Maintain sugar and carbohydrate metabolism.1,5 Resist-X contains cocoa polyphenols which have been shown to maintain cellular redox status in pancreatic beta cell lines, therefore exerting a protective effect against beta cell dysfunction.6 Cocoa has also been shown, in multiple clinical trials, to reduce fasting glucose and reduce glucose responses to oral glucose challenge.1,7 Cocoa may facilitate glucose uptake by increasing specific types of receptors involved in the activation of intracellular signalling pathways.8

Chromium, biotin, B vitamins and zinc for glucose transport in the body.2 Chromium has been found to support glucose uptake by attenuating endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, a factor which may suppress glucose transport.9 Chromium also down regulates markers associated with compromised glucose transport and promotes intracellular signalling cascades which help to maintain glucose transport.9,10
